My theory as a historian is that if Napoleon had committed to the battle at Waterloo Grouchy and Ney in persecution of the Prussians the results would have been different.
Grouchy had sent Hougomont fly the skies with artillery. And Ney, listening to the first cannons would have undertaken the return intercepting the Prussians from behind.
